Mirror Fun

What you need

• two mirrors – at least one portable (larger than hand held).

What to do

Create an infinite mirror by placing two mirrors facing each other. Stand in between them and look into one of the mirrors. You will see many images of yourself stretching into infinity.

Another activity is to place a mirror perpendicular to another mirror and see the funny faces you make by looking down the length of one mirror.

If the mirrors are large enough get your child to experiment with their full body. What happens when they lift a leg away from their body?

• Can you make the top of your head big?
• Can you make it so you have only one eye?
• For the “infinite mirror” - How many images of yourself can you see?
