Watering the Garden

What you need

• outdoor tap
• colander/sieve
• funnel

What to do

In this activity you will make a home-made sprinkler/shower head.

Allow water to run out of the tap or hose, through the colander or sieve. Watch how the water sprinkles like a shower; and it’s watering the garden at the same time. If it is a warm day, let your child wear a swimming costume and use the sieve/colander to make an outdoor shower. Use the funnel to direct the stream of water from the tap. Turn the funnel up the other way and allow the water to stream out. If you have a sprinkler or adjustable nozzle on the hose, explore with that.
